havent had a decent opportunity to speak and debrief all of you. and also i needed time to consolidate my thoughts. :)
Ho Min Pei - Thank you for the many brilliant saves and covering of the defense’s backside for the games. And also for risking the tear to play. It’s a miracle that your ACL has been hanging on for the past 9mths. Get it treated and strengthen your knees. Because the team needs you to save their asses for another few more years. :)
Grace Ng - Thank you for putting studies, parents’ nagging aside and all negative emotions off court. And stepping up to lead your little brothers. I am happy that you showed the crowd, the opponent, your team and yourself that you can be really fast in attack, defense and also is a shooting threat. See you around.
Shen De Mu - Thank you for stepping up and being a responsible and accountable vice capt as well as pivot. Your screens are your strengths and your tenacity to get loose balls too. Rest your shins, eat more (like what Ms Ang said), become a rou rou and we’ll work on your turn-around-look-at-goal-post-before-shooting stance.
Shao la - Thank you for your understanding in my decision to sit you out for games. Your strength is in your 9m standing shots which we have yet been given the opportunity to see. Work on your vision, off the ball movement and ball handling, im sure u will become a lethal player that I see in you.
Chong Jia Min - Thank you for maturing through the games. Besides the attitude change, I see that fighting spirit in you. The desire to want to do something for your team mates. Go get lasik for your eyes and come back, we’ll work on your falling shots at the wing side. Do know that I see something in you that Coach Guan don’t see. I believe in you.
Jamie - Thank you for stepping up to fill the shoes of 2nd man. Your ability to dodge pass defenders is your strength. Just gotta work on the chicken wing and ebrake. At least this time lesser ‘line ball’ than pivoting right? Hope you see value in the position that you are playing now and continue to improve. Of cos, with help from your neighbouring team mates.
Yun Xia - Thank you for seeing the bigger picture and offering to sit yourself out for the last two games. It pains me to see you cry. Because we all know you deserve to play. You are one hardworking, fast and efficient player. Those are your strengths. Your vision is starting to open up, continue to watch more games, talk to your center friend and explore different ways of playing. Cut down on the chicken wings and leaving your shoe in the middle of court like cinderella. Rest well and come back stronger.
Chern Hwee - Thank you for believing in me when I asked u to play center. And for allowing us a chance to care for u. Your ability to read plays is your strength. You know your own weaknesses and know that we want to try our best to help you turn them to ur strengths. So continue to work hard and trust yourself as well as your team mates.
Mei Xing - Thank you for running your heart out, defending every fastbreak and panting like a cow after a grass buffet. You gotta watch more games, understand why players do certain things at certain time. Learn to be more ‘game wise’. No say coach say do this, means do this forever and always. ya? Jia you and continue to work on ur right wing shots. Super shuang after scoring right?
KY - Thank you for putting your joints at risk for this tournament. Rem, got questions then ask until you understand. Your chicken wing, looking at the floor are your kryptonite and will continue to be unless you are willing to try the opposite. Your chemistry with ong will continue to impress many. So Jia you.
Selina - Thank you for your optimism on and off court. Have more confidence in yourself esp the ball handling. Remember how happy you felt when I praised you for your ball handling after 1st game? Keep it in your mind and we move on to the next level. Constantly talk to yourself during the game and kick that red man out. Your upper body movement has greatly reduced as well. So jia you and we’ll work on getting your green man out and running all the time.
Yan Ling - Thank you for never giving up. For having so much heart in the team. You have gotta learn to relax more during game. Open up the vision and trust that you can be just as good, if not, even better than your opponents. You have impressed me with your analytical thinking and willingness to share with your ideas with ur team mates. Without such brains, how would we have thought of a long pass to wings? So take pride in what you do. Time to level up, layer.
Shiya - Thank you for being a great captain. Both on and off court. For asking and reminding me stuffs that I have forgotten. (of cos, also got times, i end up reminding you.. haha) You truly deserve the most inspiring award. Because you held your team together when they were about to fall apart. Because you care about each and everyone of them. And you led very clearly by example. I am happy that you are getting the recognition that you deserved. Next up, we work on your diving shots, k? Thank you Ongs.
Bee Leg - Thank you for bringing stability and vision to the team. Yes it is hard being the center. To be constantly thinking and conducting the play. You have gotta learn to be patient and also to take a step back and be the calming factor. Your 9m shots are ur strengths because they help to draw defenders out. Next level would be to look out for gaps as you take the shots. You make decisions base on all the factors that have been presented to you. If you decide to take that 9m shot and it misses, forgive yourself and forgive team mates who might think you are being selfish. Because someone has to step up and take that shot. so take heart in the fact that many have remarked on your ability to lead as the center and we continue to level up from there.
ah min - Thank you for stepping up when I told you we will be resting ah pei much. From then on, I could see that fire in you during training and during games. Remember, what we lack in physique, we make it up in quickness and mental strength. I’ll pass you more keeper videos, and you watch more games and observe the kind of saves, movements that keepers make and we move on from there. ok?

that took me another 30mins. heh. Take pride in what you have achieved in this tournament. We now know what we are lacking in and we’ll continue to strengthen our attack. We need to be more confident and start whacking in the goals like no one’s business. Jia you.
